Producing

Producing is everything beyond setting up mics and pressing buttons. It’s the guiding process that takes a song or album from beginning to end, understanding what you’re after and how to get it there, knowing when things sound right, deciding if more or less is needed.

I tend to work with bands who have songs written and want help capturing the energy of their performance in a recording. I also work with songwriters to produce from the ground up. My goal is to help artists develop a sound that’s true to them, to push them in the direction they want to go.

Every album is unique – costs are based on studio day rates and how long a project will take.

Mixing

I love to mix, and that’s what I’ve built Tastefully Loud to accommodate. Whether you’ve tracked in a studio or at home, I can mix your recordings and get them sounding great.

Mixing has many variables (track count, additional editing/tuning, revisions, stems, etc.). I’ll quote a per-song rate for remote work, or do everything in-person at a day rate.

Recording / Engineering

Most folks who contact me are looking for a (Co-)Producer to take an album from start to finish, BUT I’m also available to just engineer. I’m happy to work with producers, or artists who want to begin a project in the studio and transition to self-recording (e.g. drums & basics in the studio).

Mastering

I use a hybridized workflow, starting with an analog signal chain and finishing with a bit of digital EQ.

$400/album (max. 10 songs or 40mins) – inquire for EPs, longer LPs, and singles. Master WAV files are prepared for: digital/streaming upload, vinyl/cassette, and CD.
